We are at the forefront of developing advanced humanoid robots designed for household use. Our mission is to create an abundant supply of labor via safe, intelligent humanoids. As we transition from R&D to full-scale manufacturing, we seek a highly skilled and experienced Advanced Prototype Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the rest of the R&D team on prototyping (Prototyping as a Service) robotic joints, 3D printed assemblies, electronics testbeds, etc.. Collaborating closely with hardware and software teams, you will play a key role in ensuring our product designs are fully supported throughout the entire development lifecycle.

  • Help the R&D Engineering team to prototype new designs, both electrical and mechanical.

Within one month, you will…

  • Get a hold of our prototype and test lab.

  • Learn the ropes of how our robot has been designed.

  • Get an understanding of all in-house developed sub-systems for NEO.

Within three months, you will…

  • Help build early prototypes of new designs together with the R&D Engineering team.

  • Support the Testing and Systems Integration team by building test benches.

  • Ensure we have a world class R&D prototype and test lab.

Within one year, you will…

  • Help scaling-up our prototyping methodologies and facilities to support all company projects globally.

Responsibilities 
  • Build early prototypes of new electromechanical designs together with the R&D Engineering team emphasizing attention to detail and documentation.

  • Build mechanical and electrical test benches for evaluating R&D designs and in-house developed technologies.

  • Help developing our R&D prototype and test lab in Moss, ensuring we have all tools, off-the-shelf parts and equipment needed to build our prototypes.

Job requirements

Must-Haves

  • Solid technical understanding of complex mechanical and electrical designs and products
  • Previous experience building or maintaining complex mechatronic systems (transmissions, harnesses, PCBs, etc.), especially in the robotics or aerospace sector
  • Experience assembling mechanical parts and assemblies
  • Familiarity with 3D printing processes such as FDM and SLA

Nice-To-Haves

  • Good soldering skills
  • Ability to keep a workshop tidy in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail and documentation skills
  • Experience with CAD and technical drawings
