Test Engineer, Manufacturing
Location: Hayward, CA (on-site)
We build humanoid robots that work alongside people to solve labor shortages and create abundance.
The Role
Join our manufacturing team to lead testing, quality, and reliability for humanoid robot production systems. You will develop and implement quality strategies, evaluate test station performance, and work cross-functionally with design and firmware teams. Your work will directly influence the robustness and scalability of our manufacturing processes.
Job requirements
You Will
Develop end-to-end quality strategies for robot manufacturing, from subassemblies to full systems
Conduct PFMEA to identify failure modes and improve process robustness
Collaborate with test and firmware teams to integrate quality checks into workflows
Analyze test data to monitor yields and identify root causes of failures
Partner with design teams to implement quality improvements across components and systems
Lead DOE to refine pass/fail criteria and boost test accuracy
Evaluate test station performance and scalability across sites
Document quality plans, testing procedures, and corrective actions
Must Have
Bachelor’s or Master’s in Mechanical, Electrical, Robotics Engineering, or related field
3+ years of electromechanical hardware testing in manufacturing
Experience with PCBA testing, IMU calibration, actuator and sensor validation, or end-of-line system testing
Strong understanding of PFMEA, Gage R&R, and statistical data analysis
Hands-on experience with test hardware (power supplies, CAN tools, actuators, etc.)
Self-starter with strong time management and attention to detail
Excellent technical documentation and communication skills
Experience with autonomous or humanoid robotic systems
Exposure to scalable test systems across multiple manufacturing sites
Background in startup or fast-paced hardware environments
Benefits & Compensation
Salary Range: $90,000 – $195,000
