Job description
As we scale from research and development to full-scale manufacturing, we are looking for a Tech Lead – Electrical Engineering to drive the design, development, and integration of electrical systems in our next-generation products. In this role, you will act as the technical authority for the electrical domain, working closely with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure robust, scalable, and manufacturable solutions.
As the Tech Lead for Electrical Engineering, you will architect and guide the development of complex electrical systems, including power distribution, compute, sensing, and communication. You’ll be responsible for technical decision-making, peer design reviews, and alignment across hardware and software interfaces. This is a hands-on leadership role: you should be comfortable designing circuits, reviewing schematics, debugging boards, and mentoring engineers.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the design and development of electrical architectures across the product lifecycle—from concept to production.
Own critical electrical system components (e.g., PCBs, harnesses, power delivery, compute, sensors).
Work cross-functionally with mechanical, software, firmware, and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless integration.
Guide and review detailed schematic capture, layout, and bring-up of custom PCBs.
Drive validation and verification testing at both the board and system level.
Manage design reviews, documentation, and risk assessments in accordance with internal and industry standards.
Serve as the technical mentor for junior and mid-level electrical engineers.
Support root-cause analysis and issue resolution in both prototype and production builds.
Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturing teams to ensure DFM, cost optimization, and high reliability.
Job requirements
B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering or related field.
7+ years of experience in electrical design for complex electro-mechanical systems; experience with robotics, automotive, aerospace, or consumer electronics is a plus.
Deep expertise in analog and digital circuit design, power electronics, and high-speed interfaces.
Proficiency with schematic capture and PCB layout tools (e.g., Altium).
Familiarity with safety, EMC, and regulatory compliance (e.g., CE, FCC).
Strong debugging and lab testing skills using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other tools.
Proven experience working in a fast-paced, cross-functional product development environment.
Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
Nice to Have
Experience with motor control, battery systems, or embedded computing platforms (e.g., NVIDIA Jetson, Raspberry Pi, STM32).
Experience designing products for volume manufacturing.
Understanding of firmware and embedded systems, and ability to work across the EE-FW boundary.
