Software Engineer, AI Tooling

Target start date: immediately.  Relocation provided.

Since its founding in 2015, 1X has been at the forefront of developing advanced humanoid robots designed for household use. Our mission is to create an abundant supply of labor via safe, intelligent humanoids. 

Vertical integration enables hardware, software, and AI to work together in a seamless and magical product experience, and thus we design and produce every part in-house—from motor coils to AI. Putting a general-purpose robot into the home is just about the hardest technical problem one can work on. At 1X, you’ll own critical projects, tackle unsolved research problems, deliver great products to customers, and be rewarded based on merit and achievement. 

We are looking for a Software Engineer in AI Tooling. In this role, you will build full-stack applications and internal tools for improving the efficiency of robot training, data collection, and evaluation. These tools will be used by hundreds of robot operators.

REQUIREMENTS

• 4 years of professional experience in Computer Science, Data Science, Robotics, or an equivalent field

• Strong software engineering skills

• Experience in JavaScript / React and SQL

• Thrives in ambiguity

• Fast learner and able to prototype quickly

Nice to have

• Experience in Python, especially Numpy and PyTorch

• Experience with label annotation, data warehousing

• Experience in robotics, machine learning, data analysis

• Experience in Linux, server and fleet management

Compensation

At 1X your work and results will be rewarded with a total rewards package consisting of a base salary, stock options and benefits. Base salary range is $130,000 to $250,000. Your actual salary will be based on your knowledge, skills and experience.
