Role Overview
We are seeking a passionate Softgoods Engineer to join our prototyping team. This role combines engineering expertise with hands-on craftsmanship to design and develop innovative softgoods products. You will lead projects from concept through production, translating ideas into high-quality, manufacturable solutions. This is a highly collaborative position that requires creativity, problem-solving, and a strong eye for detail.

Responsibilities

  • Design, prototype, and refine softgoods products using knowledge of textiles, adhesives, and knitting processes

  • Translate concepts into production-ready solutions with a focus on quality and manufacturability

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, design, and manufacturing

  • Manage projects from initial ideation through final delivery, ensuring excellence throughout

  • Apply design thinking and engineering principles in a hands-on prototyping environment

  • Tackle new challenges with persistence, adaptability, and creative problem-solving

  • Maintain a high standard of craftsmanship and detail in all deliverables

Job requirements

Requirements

  • Proven experience in softgoods engineering, product design, or a related field

  • Deep understanding of textiles, adhesives, construction methods, and knitting techniques

  • Demonstrated experience in hands-on prototyping and sample making

  • Technical drawing, CAD, or patterning skills are a plus

  • Ability to independently manage projects from concept to production

  • Passion for designing and building functional, aesthetically pleasing products

  • Precision, determination, and a mindset of continuous improvement

  • Willingness to learn and take on challenges outside of current expertise
