Role Overview
We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the design and development of critical systems for our humanoid robot, NEO. In this role, you’ll design and validate high-performance robotic joints, transmissions, and sensor-integrated assemblies, ensuring that they are optimized for both performance and manufacturability. Your work will directly impact the scalability of humanoid robots from R&D into full-scale production and deployment across homes and industries worldwide.

Responsibilities
Design, prototype, and validate electromechanical systems for humanoid robots
Integrate electronics, sensors, and cabling into compact, multi-DoF joint packages
Optimize assemblies for weight, reliability, manufacturability, and cost efficiency
Perform structural FEA simulations to validate robust designs
Produce high-quality CAD models, drawings, and specifications for manufacturing partners
Author design documentation including requirements, specifications, and test plans
Requirements
Bachelor’s or higher degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
Proficiency with CAD tools (SolidWorks preferred)
Experience performing structural FEA simulations
Strong understanding of manufacturing methods for mid- to high-volume production
Proven experience taking complex mechanical systems from concept through production
Bonus: Experience with DFM for casting or forging processes
Bonus: Background in robotics system design, kinematics, or dynamics
Bonus: Familiarity with FMEA for design validation
Bonus: Experience developing multi-DoF mechatronic systems
Bonus: Exposure to PCB design workflows
