Role Overview
We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the design and development of critical systems for our humanoid robot, NEO. In this role, you’ll design and validate high-performance robotic joints, transmissions, and sensor-integrated assemblies, ensuring that they are optimized for both performance and manufacturability. Your work will directly impact the scalability of humanoid robots from R&D into full-scale production and deployment across homes and industries worldwide.

Responsibilities

  • Design, prototype, and validate electromechanical systems for humanoid robots

  • Integrate electronics, sensors, and cabling into compact, multi-DoF joint packages

  • Optimize assemblies for weight, reliability, manufacturability, and cost efficiency

  • Perform structural FEA simulations to validate robust designs

  • Produce high-quality CAD models, drawings, and specifications for manufacturing partners

  • Author design documentation including requirements, specifications, and test plans

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering

  • Proficiency with CAD tools (SolidWorks preferred)

  • Experience performing structural FEA simulations

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing methods for mid- to high-volume production

  • Proven experience taking complex mechanical systems from concept through production

  • Bonus: Experience with DFM for casting or forging processes

  • Bonus: Background in robotics system design, kinematics, or dynamics

  • Bonus: Familiarity with FMEA for design validation

  • Bonus: Experience developing multi-DoF mechatronic systems

  • Bonus: Exposure to PCB design workflows
