Shift Supervisor, Robot Operations (All Shifts)
Palo Alto & San Carlos, CA (onsite)
Shifts: Panama schedule (12-hour shifts; day or night)

The Role
As a Shift Supervisor at 1X, you will lead a team of Robot Operators to ensure efficient workflows, high-quality data collection, and consistent operational performance during your shift. This hands-on role requires proactive problem-solving, real-time coordination, and strong leadership to support smooth and effective robot operations. You will play a vital role in supporting 1X’s mission as we transition from R&D to full-scale manufacturing.
Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate Robot Operators during your shift to maintain productivity and data collection standards
Serve as the primary point of contact for shift operators, resolving issues and escalating when needed
Monitor adherence to data collection protocols and ensure high-quality operational output
Facilitate smooth shift transitions with clear updates on progress, issues, and priorities
Conduct regular checks to ensure operators have the tools and resources needed
Assist in onboarding and training new team members to ensure quick ramp-up
Maintain records of shift performance, including data collected and issues encountered
Recommend process improvements to the Shift Manager
Enforce safety and operational procedures to ensure a secure work environment
Work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
Job requirements
Requirements
Experience in a leadership or coordination role within operations, logistics, or a similar field
Proven experience working cross-functionally with teams including (but not limited to) engineering, service, and prototype
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to guide, support, and influence a team
Proactive problem-solving ability and sound decision-making under pressure
Experience creating, reviewing, and maintaining documentation, SOPs, and training materials
Comfort using dashboards and KPIs to inform decision-making and performance management
High attention to detail and a commitment to quality and safety standards
Dependability and flexibility to work varied shifts
High school diploma or equivalent; training or certifications in operations or leadership is a plus
Benefits & Compensation
Salary: $80,000 – $115,000 + Equity
