Job description
Targeted start date: Immediately.
Since its founding in 2015, 1X has been at the forefront of developing advanced humanoid robots designed for household use. Our mission is to create an abundant supply of labor via safe, intelligent humanoids.
We strive for excellence in all we do, solving some of the hardest problems in robotics with the world’s most talented individuals. Every part of our robots is designed and produced in-house—from motor coils to AI—reflecting our vertically integrated approach. At 1X, you’ll own real projects, be recognized for your achievements, and rewarded based on merit.
As we scale from research and development to full-scale manufacturing, we are looking for Robot Operators to assist in collecting high-quality data that trains our AI systems—and eventually helps deliver in-home support for real customers. This is a hands-on role where you’ll follow structured procedures, operate robots via VR or direct interface, and flag technical or behavioral issues clearly to engineering and leadership teams. You’ll receive full training and grow through clearly defined levels as you demonstrate consistency, quality, and ownership of increasingly complex workflows.
Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM (PM shift / M-F)
What You'll Do
Operate humanoid robots in R&D environments and customer homes, following defined standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Accurately and consistently collect data that meets internal quality standards.
Annotate and label collected data using internal tools to support AI model training efforts.
Support active robot sessions by staging environments, assisting with task execution, and interacting with the robot as needed to ensure smooth operations.
Monitor robot performance and report clear issue logs (with timestamps, video/screenshot, and task context).
Transition to in-home robot support as systems are deployed, maintaining professionalism and clear communication with customers.
Follow all safety guidelines, both in lab and residential environments.
Keep clean, clear records of completed workflows and system behaviors.
Work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
