Role Overview

As a Quality Inspection Specialist, you will ensure that all parts and assemblies adhere to the highest standards of precision and quality. You will carry out inspections across incoming, in-process, and final stages; interpret engineering drawings and GD&T; and work cross-functionally to drive continuous improvement in quality methods and systems.

Responsibilities

  • Perform inspections on incoming, in-process, and final parts using precision measurement tools, ensuring compliance with GD&T, engineering drawings, and quality standards

  • Develop and refine inspection workflows to improve efficiency, optimize part flow, and establish clear inspection criteria and documentation

  • Act as the primary decision-maker for part acceptance or rejection, collaborating with engineering, production, and quality teams to resolve issues and implement corrective actions

  • Continuously evaluate and improve inspection procedures, leveraging automation and best practices to enhance accuracy and efficiency

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant inspection area, ensuring measurement tools and equipment are properly calibrated, maintained, and in working order

  • Develop and maintain documentation, including metrology protocols, inspection reports, and quality manuals

  • Train and mentor team members on inspection techniques, quality standards, and proper tool usage to maintain consistency and accuracy

Job requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in part inspection, quality control, or manufacturing, with strong understanding of GD&T and ability to interpret engineering drawings

  • Proficiency in precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, CMM) and experience with FAI, PPAP, Gauge R&R, non‑conformance documentation

  • Strong problem‑solving skills, including ability to develop measurement strategies, establish robust measurement setups, and deliver structured data to inform decisions

  • Experience collaborating with engineering, production, and quality teams to drive continuous improvements

  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and communication ability

  • Capability to train and mentor others in inspection and quality methodology

  • Nice to have: experience in precision manufacturing (aerospace, medical devices, automotive), experience in lean or startup environments, familiarity with Six Sigma, 8D, SPC, FMEA, and other quality process methodologies
