Role Overview
As a Quality Inspection Specialist, you will ensure that all parts and assemblies adhere to the highest standards of precision and quality. You will carry out inspections across incoming, in-process, and final stages; interpret engineering drawings and GD&T; and work cross-functionally to drive continuous improvement in quality methods and systems.
Responsibilities
Perform inspections on incoming, in-process, and final parts using precision measurement tools, ensuring compliance with GD&T, engineering drawings, and quality standards
Develop and refine inspection workflows to improve efficiency, optimize part flow, and establish clear inspection criteria and documentation
Act as the primary decision-maker for part acceptance or rejection, collaborating with engineering, production, and quality teams to resolve issues and implement corrective actions
Continuously evaluate and improve inspection procedures, leveraging automation and best practices to enhance accuracy and efficiency
Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant inspection area, ensuring measurement tools and equipment are properly calibrated, maintained, and in working order
Develop and maintain documentation, including metrology protocols, inspection reports, and quality manuals
Train and mentor team members on inspection techniques, quality standards, and proper tool usage to maintain consistency and accuracy
Job requirements
5+ years of experience in part inspection, quality control, or manufacturing, with strong understanding of GD&T and ability to interpret engineering drawings
Proficiency in precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, CMM) and experience with FAI, PPAP, Gauge R&R, non‑conformance documentation
Strong problem‑solving skills, including ability to develop measurement strategies, establish robust measurement setups, and deliver structured data to inform decisions
Experience collaborating with engineering, production, and quality teams to drive continuous improvements
Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and communication ability
Capability to train and mentor others in inspection and quality methodology
Nice to have: experience in precision manufacturing (aerospace, medical devices, automotive), experience in lean or startup environments, familiarity with Six Sigma, 8D, SPC, FMEA, and other quality process methodologies
