We seek the world's most talented individuals with a passion for inventing and building a more prosperous future. As we scale from research and development to full-scale manufacturing, we are seeking an experienced HR Operations Specialist to help refine and execute our HR strategy while supporting our ongoing growth. In this role, you will play a key role in driving operational excellence and contributing to our mission of transforming the world through innovation.


You will collaborate closely with our HR team in Norway, ensuring alignment across global operations and fostering a cohesive, efficient, and compliant HR framework. This partnership will support the seamless integration of processes and best practices as we continue to expand.

We believe the best work is done when collaborating and therefore require in-person presence in our office.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and maintain accurate employee records, ensuring seamless onboarding and offboarding processes.

  • Ensure compliance with California and federal labor laws, including tracking and reporting leave balances and other statutory requirements.

  • Administer employee benefits programs, including open enrollment, and provide guidance on HR policies and processes.

  • Manage HR systems and lead initiatives to streamline and enhance operational workflows.

  • Provide support and training to managers and employees on HR systems, policies, and workplace practices.

  • Support the entire employee lifecycle, including new hire processing, immigration and global mobility administration, policy development, and labor law compliance.

  • Assist in developing, implementing, and continuously improving HR policies and programs to meet legal, organizational, and cultural requirements.

Job requirements

  • 3-5 years of HR experience, preferably in a a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong knowledge of California labor laws, HR Compliance and best practices.

  • Proficiency in HRIS and an ability to improve HR systems and processes.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

  • A proven ability to thrive in dynamic, fast-paced environments while managing multiple priorities.

It will be nice if you had 

  • Experience working in a start-up environment, particularly in the tech industry, with a proven ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-changing workplace.

Typical interview process 

  • Introductions - interviews to learn more about you and talk about 1X and the role

    • Interview with a member of the Talent Acquisition team

    • Hiring manager / senior team member 

  • Team interviews - technical interviews and deep-dives with team members. May include a take home challenge, presentation or problem-solving exercise

    • Technical deep-dive conversation with a team member 

    • Onsite interviews with team members 

  • Final stages - you move to the final round

    • Expectation management with the hiring manager 

    • We will conduct reference checks

    • Job offer conversation 

Depending on the role and your background, additional interviews may be added.
