Role Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Engineering Intern to support our manufacturing and prototyping initiatives. In this part-time, 3-month internship, you will collaborate with our engineering team to design components, iterate on prototypes, and contribute to real-world product development. This is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience and mentorship in a fast-paced environment, with the potential for extension beyond the initial term.
Responsibilities
Assist in the design and development of mechanical components and assemblies
Create and modify CAD models and technical drawings
Support prototyping and testing, particularly using 3D printing technologies
Collaborate with engineers to brainstorm, troubleshoot, and iterate on designs
Maintain design documentation and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Job requirements
Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
Experience with CAD software (preferably OnShape or SolidWorks)
Familiarity with 3D printing processes and equipment
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Effective communication and collaboration skills within a team environment
Hands-on experience assembling or testing mechanical prototypes
Familiarity with Design for Manufacturing (DfM) principles
Exposure to other CAD platforms or simulation tools
Benefits & Compensation
Hourly Range: $25 – $30
Part-Time (20 hours per week)
