    Job description

Since its founding in 2015, 1X has been at the forefront of developing advanced humanoid robots designed for household use. Our mission is to create an abundant supply of labor via safe, intelligent humanoids.

As a Mechanical Engineers at 1X Technologies you will focus on designing, building, and validating mechanical subsystems for advanced robotics and automation products. You will own components from concept through production, with emphasis on tendon mechanisms. Partnering closely with design, testing, and manufacturing teams, you’ll deliver reliable, serviceable designs and documentation that meet performance, safety, and cost targets in a fast-paced R&D-to-production environment.

    Responsibilities

    • Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for robotic/automation platforms.

    • Create rope/tendon-driven, routing, anchoring, and tensioning solutions.

    • Comfortable with 3D CAD models, drawings, and GD&T

    • Perform hand calculations and basic FEA to validate strength, stiffness, fatigue, and vibration.

    • Build prototypes, run bench and system-level tests, and iterate based on data.

    • Drive DFM/DFA reviews with suppliers and internal manufacturing partners.

    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues and improve reliability.
