We are seeking an experienced and driven Materials Manager to lead our materials handling and logistics team at our robotics manufacturing and distribution center. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate inventory management, timely material movement, high levels of internal customer service, and a safe work environment. Set clear performance expectations, provide feedback, and execute performance improvement plans as needed
Drive a culture of safety, ensuring compliance with OSHA and internal safety standards
Oversee material receiving, storage, and distribution processes, ensuring efficient and accurate inventory handling
Implement and maintain high-performance materials management operations, including cycle counting and FIFO rotation
Coordinate inbound/outbound logistics, shipping and receiving, and internal point-to-point material movement
Develop service routes and material replenishment strategies to meet production and R&D requirements
Lead cost-saving initiatives and continuous improvement projects across the materials organization
Ensure adherence to internal quality standards and customer flow-down requirements
Manage environmental and shelf-life controls per material requirements
Monitor and approve workforce timekeeping records, staffing levels, and operational KPIs
Job requirements
Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of professional experience in materials management, supply chain, or manufacturing; or 4+ years of equivalent professional experience
Strong leadership and communication skills with experience managing hourly teams
Proven ability to drive performance improvements in logistics or materials operations
High attention to detail and organizational skills in fast-paced environments
Proficiency with warehouse management systems and Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to work cross-functionally and adapt to evolving business needs
Nice to have
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, engineering, or technical discipline
APICS certification (CPIM or CSCP)
Lean or Six Sigma certification (Green or Black Belt)
Experience in robotics, automotive, aerospace, or high-tech manufacturing
Familiarity with SQL, PowerBI, or advanced analytics tools
