Logistics Specialist
Location: Hayward, CA (On-site)

Role Summary
Oversee and execute domestic and international logistics operations supporting production, R&D, and customer shipments. This advanced role involves managing shipping, hazardous materials, trade compliance, and coordination with internal teams to ensure efficient and compliant global logistics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and ship domestic and international orders, including required documentation (commercial invoices, bills of lading, etc.).

  • Coordinate shipments for trade shows and temporary imports (ATA Carnets, customs clearance, freight, etc.).

  • Manage import/export logistics to minimize customs delays.

  • Handle hazardous materials packaging and shipping per DOT and IATA standards.

  • Maintain records of all shipments, inventory transactions, and ERP updates.

  • Oversee RMA and vendor return processes.

  • Maintain min/max levels for packaging materials.

  • Operate forklifts and powered handling equipment as needed.

  • Support continuous improvement in logistics processes and documentation.

  • Train and mentor team members on logistics and warehouse procedures.

  • Support general warehouse operations (receiving, replenishment, material movement).

  • Lead or assist in implementing process and safety improvements.

Job requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education a plus.

  • 10+ years of logistics or warehouse operations experience preferred.

  • Experience with international shipping, incoterms, and customs procedures.

  • Certification or experience in hazardous material shipping (DOT, IATA) preferred.

  • Proficiency with WMS, ERP, or PLM systems (e.g., NetSuite, Microsoft Office).

  • Strong understanding of inventory control and cycle counting.

  • Skilled in equipment operation (forklifts, pallet jacks) and rigging/crating large items.

  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities.

  • APICS CLTD or similar certification a plus.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically active work.

  • Experience with Lean or continuous improvement methods preferred.

Compensation & Benefits
