Job description

Target start date: Immediately. Relocation provided.

Since its founding in 2015, 1X has been at the forefront of developing advanced humanoid robots designed for household use. Our mission is to create an abundant supply of labor via safe, intelligent humanoids.

We strive for excellence in all we do, solving some of the hardest problems in robotics with the world’s most talented individuals. Every part of our robots is designed and produced in-house—from motor coils to AI—reflecting our vertically integrated approach. At 1X, you’ll own real projects, be recognized for your achievements, and rewarded based on merit.

We are seeking a detail‑oriented and organized Inventory Specialist to maintain and optimize our parts and materials inventory supporting high‑precision robotics manufacturing. You'll ensure accurate tracking, handling, and distribution of critical components, directly impacting production efficiency and assembly quality.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, and process incoming raw material and components; verify against documentation for part numbers, quantities, revisions, and damage.

  • Store inventory in defined locations (bins, racks, drawers) with clear labeling and traceability.

  • Execute picking and kitting operations—assemble production kits per BOM, confirming completeness.

  • Perform regular cycle counts, maintain stock accuracy, and reconcile discrepancies, including root‑cause analysis.

  • Monitor shelf‑life and enforce proper FIFO rotation; manage expiry-sensitive parts.

  • Record all inventory movements in ERP systems; issue material to authorized work orders with serialization and lot trace logging.

  • Uphold material handling procedures, desk instructions, and SOPs to ensure compliance and efficiency.

  • Support company-wide metrics and continuous improvement initiatives related to inventory accuracy, flow, and loss reduction.

  • Maintain organization and cleanliness in storage and staging areas in line with 5S standards.

Job requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Minimum 1 year of inventory control experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.

  • Proven ability to conduct cycle counts and maintain accurate records.

  • Competent in using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).

  • High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to work collaboratively across teams.

Nice to have

  • 3+ years of inventory control experience in warehouse or production settings.

  • Forklift certification and experience operating material handling equipment.

  • Background in aerospace, automotive, semiconductor, or electronics manufacturing.

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, or related discipline.

  • Exposure to kitting operations and BOM-based inventory flow.

  • Experience with advanced inventory methodologies such as ABC classification, cycle counting frameworks, and discrepancy root-cause analysis.

Compensation

At 1X your work and results will be rewarded with a total rewards package consisting of a base salary and benefits. The hourly range is $20 to $35. Your actual rate will be based on your knowledge, skills and experience.
