Role Overview
The Inventory Control Analyst will ensure the integrity and accuracy of perpetual inventory across global operations, reconcile variances, maintain and analyze ERP data, generate inventory health reporting, and partner with supply chain, manufacturing, and leadership to optimize inventory positioning. This role is critical to supporting 1X’s ability to scale manufacturing and logistics operations reliably and efficiently.
Responsibilities
Drive the global cycle count program: generate daily counts, reconcile variances in WIP and stock locations, and measure performance against corporate KPIs
Investigate and reconcile material discrepancies via WIP reconciliation, floor‑to‑sheet audits, sheet‑to‑floor audits, and random bin audits
Develop and maintain ABC classification of on‑hand inventory
Perform root cause analysis for inventory variances and propose sustainable countermeasures
Coordinate with scrap vendors for disposition of materials, including handling intellectual property and hazardous materials
Publish and distribute monthly inventory reports (e.g. slow-moving items, adjustments, variances, turnover, inbound/outbound, shortages)
Create dashboards and analytics using Power BI, Tableau, or related tools
Manage inventory actions tied to Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and material disposition
Develop and maintain E&O (excess & obsolete) inventory reporting and lead shrinkage reduction initiatives
Support quarterly trend analysis, ad hoc reporting, and continuous improvement in inventory management
Job requirements
5–7 years of experience in inventory data analysis, supply chain, logistics, manufacturing, or similar environment
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred
Experience in a dynamic manufacturing environment; prior exposure to aerospace, automotive, semiconductor, or electronics manufacturing is a plus
Proficiency in advanced inventory methodologies (cycle counting, ABC classification, root cause analysis)
Global logistics knowledge is desirable
Strong verbal and written communication skills, including presentation ability
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Experience with software tools: Excel, SQL, Access, Power BI, Tableau, ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle, Odoo, etc.)
Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple tasks; strong collaborator across internal and external teams
Willingness to travel to offsite warehouse or manufacturing facilities as needed
Certifications such as APICS CPIM, CSCP, or CLTD are a plus
