About the role
This role will support our Manufacturing, Engineering, TeleOperations, and Service organizations, partnering with leadership to drive high-performing teams in a fast-paced, operational environment. Working closely with HR and Talent, the Senior HR People Partner will shape people strategy, strengthen leadership capability, and ensure compliance with California employment law.
Responsibilities
Lead complex and sensitive employee relations matters with sound judgment, empathy, and legal compliance.
Serve as a strategic HR advisor to leaders across Manufacturing, Engineering, TeleOperations, and Service teams.
Partner cross-functionally with Legal and Compliance to interpret and apply California labor laws, wage and hour regulations, and relevant employment standards.
Support both hourly and salaried employees, with a primary focus on engineering alongside production, robotics assembly, and field operations.
Serve as a trusted resource for employees and managers, ensuring equitable treatment and resolution of concerns
Participate in talent reviews, compensation planning, and other core HR processes in partnership with the People team.
Job requirements
Qualifications
7+ years of progressive HR experience, including 3+ years managing employee relations in California.
Proven expertise in California labor law and HR practices relevant to hourly workers, including leave administration, investigations, and corrective action.
Experience in manufacturing, logistics, or high-compliance operational environments.
Track record of working in a fast-paced, ambiguous startup or high-growth environment.
Demonstrated ability to influence across all levels of the organization.
Strong judgment, communication, and discretion in handling sensitive issues.
Nice to Have
HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP/SCP) or legal training related to employment law.
Experience standing up HR systems and practices from the ground up in early-stage companies, moving from R&D into Manufacturing.
Background in robotics, hardware, or deep tech environments is a plus.
