As we scale from research and development to full-scale manufacturing, we are seeking an experienced HR Operations Specialist to help refine and execute our HR strategy while supporting our ongoing growth. In this role, you will play a key part in driving operational excellence and contributing to our mission of transforming the world through innovation.

You will collaborate with HR leaders ensuring alignment across global operations while fostering a cohesive, efficient, and compliant HR framework. This partnership will support the seamless integration of processes and best practices as we continue to expand.

Note: This role is in-person 5 days per week. It will begin with training at our Palo Alto HQ and transition to our new Hayward warehouse manufacturing facility in the fall.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operational HR Management & Compliance: Manage and execute day-to-day HR operations in at our Hayward manufacturing facility, ensuring compliance with local and state labor laws.

  • Act as the primary HR contact and ensure HR processes and policies are implemented effectively.

  • Contracts, Documentation and System: Prepare and manage employment contracts, amendments, and other relevant HR documentation.

  • Maintain accurate and high-quality HR data across relevant systems, ensuring confidentiality and GDPR compliance.

  • Manage onboarding and off-boarding processes for employees, ensuring a smooth transition.

  • Manager & Employee support: Provide guidance and support to manager on various HR topics, including employee relations, HR policies and performance management.

  • Process improvement & Performance culture: Continuously review and improve HR processes to support the companys growth and performance goals, ensuring that policies align with organizational objectives.

Job requirements

  • 4+ years of HR experience, preferably in a fast-paced environment.

  • Must have a strong understanding of California labor laws related to hourly employees — this is a hard requirement.

  • Proficiency in HRIS and an ability to improve HR systems and processes. Rippling experience is a plus.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

  • A proven ability to thrive in dynamic, fast-paced environments while managing multiple priorities.

Nice to Have

  • Experience working in a start-up, hardware, or robotics/tech environment.

  • Familiarity with scaling HR operations in manufacturing and R+D settings.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with HRIS (Human Resource Information Systems) and payroll management.

  • Advanced knowledge of HR processes such as compensation, benefits, and employee relations.

  • Experience in driving HR initiatives, such as performance management systems or employee engagement programs.

  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to innovate and improve HR processes.

  • Experience in managing HR projects, including change management and process optimization.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and HR analytics tools.
