Job description

1X is scaling rapidly across consumer, enterprise, and manufacturing. We need a senior leader who can unify strategy across the company, drive high-impact BD and GTM partnerships, and relentlessly manage investor relationships. This role operates as an extension of the CFO—solving cross-functional problems, unlocking commercial growth, and maintaining a constant investor dialogue.

Responsibilities

Corporate Strategy (Internal Alignment & Problem Solving)

  • Run the cross-functional strategy engine that ensures Product, Engineering, Manufacturing, Finance, and Operations are solving the same problems with shared priorities.

  • Build structured problem-solving frameworks to unblock internal bottlenecks (e.g., supply chain, scaling, unit economics, customer deployments).

  • Lead annual/quarterly strategy cycles with a focus on aligning teams around the major company “big rocks” and associated KPIs.

  • Partner with the C-suite to drive strategic capital allocation and resource planning across orgs.

  • Own competitive intelligence and long-term positioning across robotics, compute, and automation.

Business Development (GTM, Manufacturing & Investor-Aware Partnerships)

  • Utilize investor network to build manufacturing partnerships, including U.S. and global suppliers, to support scaling capacity and cost-down initiatives.

  • Utilize investor base to assist with GTM strategy with an emphasis on scalable distribution, channel partnerships, and enterprise/consumer commercialization.

  • Structure and negotiate complex agreements—GTM, distribution, supply, JV, compute-for-equity, and strategic commercial deals.

  • Maintain an investor-conscious lens on BD—prioritizing deals that create enterprise value, build moat, and align with what future investors will value.

  • Build high-level relationships with partners across hyperscalers, telcos, retailers, contract manufacturers, industrials, and ecosystem players.

Investor Relations (High Hustle, High Touch)

  • Own investor communications with a hustle mentality—proactive, always-on engagement with strategic and financial investors

  • Drive continuous narrative development: equity story, KPIs, route-to-scale, and long-term model.

  • Manage data rooms, investor cadence, and off-cycle outreach to build long-term relationships well ahead of fundraising needs.

  • Respond rapidly to investor inbound and orchestrate follow-ups, materials, and cross-functional responses with precision and urgency.

  • Support CFO in fundraising prep, roadshows, diligence, and managing investor expectations.

Job requirements

  • 10–15 years across corporate strategy, BD/GTM, and/or strategic finance at a frontier-tech or advanced hardware company.

  • Experience building partnerships across manufacturing, GTM, supply chain, or large ecosystem partners.

  • Strong operational grounding and ability to run multi-org initiatives.

  • Demonstrated ability to structure, negotiate, and close high-value strategic and commercial deals.

  • Exceptional ability to synthesize technical, operational, and financial details into actionable strategy and investor-ready narratives.

Preferred Experience (Nice-to-Have)

  • VC, IBD, or consulting exposure (strategy, diligence, deal structuring).

  • Experience working with hyperscalers and industrial conglomerates.

  • Prior experience at a high-growth Series B–E tech company.

Ideal Candidate

  • Internal integrator: Makes all orgs row in the same direction.

  • Deal closer: Knows how to build and close transformative GTM and manufacturing partnerships.

  • Investor hustle: Always on, responsive, proactive—treats investors like customers.

  • Strategic operator: Balances long-term vision with short-term execution.

  • Narrative builder: Communicates clearly with partners, investors, and execs.

  • Low ego, high output, thrives in ambiguity and speed.

Benefits & Compensation

  • Salary Range: $210,000 - $240,000 + equity

  • Health, dental, and vision insurance

  • 401(k) with company match

  • Paid time off and holidays
