Job description

Since its founding in 2015, 1X has been at the forefront of developing advanced humanoid robots designed for household use. Our mission is to create an abundant supply of labor via safe, intelligent humanoids.

We strive for excellence in all we do, solving some of the hardest problems in robotics with the world’s most talented individuals. Every part of our robots is designed and produced in-house—from motor coils to AI—reflecting our vertically integrated approach. At 1X, you’ll own real projects, be recognized for your achievements, and rewarded based on merit.

We believe the best work is done when collaborating and therefore require in-person presence in our office locations.

As we scale from research and development to full-scale manufacturing, we’re building the foundation for long-term financial excellence and we’re looking for future leaders to help make that happen. As a Finance Intern at 1X, you’ll support key financial operations and strategic analysis as part of a fast-moving team. You’ll get hands-on experience across budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and business planning and work directly with leaders across the company, from engineering to operations. Whether you’re crunching numbers or building dashboards, you’ll contribute directly to the systems that help 1X scale.

  • Build and maintain driver-based financial models (budgeting and forecasting) to support scenario planning and decision-making

  • Support with cash positioning on a daily basis

  • Support cost tracking, variance analysis, and vendor spend reviews

  • Contribute to improving financial processes and tools to strengthen capabilities in analyzing key financial metrics and preparing internal reporting for leadership

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to collect inputs and align financial assumptions – most notably, cost of good sold (COGS)

  • Assist with month-end close tasks and general ledger activities

  • Present findings and recommendations to the Finance team and broader stakeholders

Job requirements

  • Are pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field

  • Are passionate about technology and excited to work at a mission-driven robotics company

  • Have strong analytical and quantitative skills – comfortable in Excel or Google Sheets

  • Are agile, detail-oriented and able to manage multiple workstreams independently with sense of urgency and accountability

  • Communicate clearly and thrive in a highly collaborative, fast-moving environment

  • Have a working understanding of financial statements and business fundamentals

  • Have experience with (or interest in learning) financial modeling or planning tools (e.g., NetSuite, Excel VBA, Power BI)
