Job description

Data Analyst | Manufacturing
Location: Hayward, CA (on-site)

About 1X
We’re an AI and robotics company based in Palo Alto, California, on a mission to build a truly abundant society through general-purpose robots capable of performing any kind of work autonomously.

We believe that to truly understand the world and grow in intelligence, humanoid robots must live and learn alongside us. That’s why we’re focused on developing friendly home robots designed to integrate seamlessly into everyday life.

We’re looking for curious, driven, and passionate people who want to help shape the future of robotics and AI. If this mission excites you, we’d be thrilled to hear from you and explore how you might contribute to our journey.

Role Overview
As a Data Analyst at 1X, you will play a central role in building the data infrastructure and analytics tools that power real-time decision-making across our organization. You’ll integrate data from diverse systems, develop performant pipelines, and create dashboards that support manufacturing, supply chain, and engineering operations. Your work will shape the intelligence and efficiency behind our humanoid robots as they scale into real-world environments.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to monitor manufacturing, supply chain, and inventory KPIs (e.g., OEE, yield, cycle time, material variance, on-time delivery, supplier performance)

  • Write SQL and Python scripts to clean, aggregate, and model data for analysis and visualization

  • Partner with operations leaders to define metrics and data models that reflect real-world production processes

  • Identify automation opportunities across the supply chain (e.g., data syncs, quality alerts, order tracking)

  • Ensure data accuracy and governance, supporting digital traceability and manufacturing genealogy

  • Collaborate with IT and software teams to integrate data sources and deploy analytics tools (Power BI, Sigma, Looker, or similar)

  • Support ad-hoc analyses to drive continuous improvement projects and cost-reduction initiatives

  • Build ETL data pipelines to extract data from ERP/MRP, MES, and inventory systems (e.g., Odoo or custom databases)

Job requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain, Data Science, or a related field

  • 2–5+ years of experience in manufacturing, operations, or analytics roles

  • Strong SQL skills, along with one or more scripting languages (Python, R), and experience working with APIs

  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker, Retool, Sigma)

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing or supply chain data structures (work orders, BOMs, routings, inventory, purchase orders)

  • Leadership capabilities and ability to deliver independently and communicate with executives

  • Familiarity with data pipelines and ETL tools (Airbyte, dbt, Fivetran, Airflow, or similar) is a plus

Benefits & Compensation

  • Salary Range: $110,000 – $165,000

  • Health, dental, and vision insurance

  • 401(k) with company match

  • Paid time off and holidays
