Since its founding in 2015, 1X has been at the forefront of developing advanced humanoid robots designed for household use. Our mission is to create an abundant supply of labor via safe, intelligent humanoids. As we prepare to bring our humanoid robots into homes, we are looking for a Direct-to-Consumer Sales Lead to take full ownership of our consumer sales operation, across both online and physical channels. In this role, you won’t just design the system, you’ll run it. From digital sales funnels to in-person experiences, you’ll be responsible for driving conversion, managing delivery and onboarding, and ensuring every customer touchpoint is frictionless and effective.
This is a hands-on role with full accountability for results. You’ll shape the experience, close early deals yourself, and build the infrastructure needed to scale our DTC presence as demand grows.
Responsibilities
Own the full DTC sales journey end-to-end: online and offline conversion, transaction execution, delivery coordination, and post-sale onboarding
Operate the system: monitor performance, close deals, solve problems, and ensure a seamless buying experience every single day
Build and manage our initial physical presence (e.g. showrooms, pop-ups, high-touch demo sites) to complement the digital funnel together with our Product and Facilities team
Collaborate with product and design to continuously improve the purchase and onboarding experience
Coordinate tightly with operations to ensure fulfillment, delivery, and customer handoff run smoothly
Track funnel metrics, diagnose drop-offs, and implement improvements that directly impact revenue and customer satisfaction
Create and refine sales collateral, onboarding materials, and demo workflows, then make sure they’re used consistently and effectively
Prepare the function to scale by identifying the right systems, tools, and future hires
Job requirements
Qualifications
5–8 years of experience in DTC sales or operations for complex, high-consideration products (e.g. EVs, connected devices, premium consumer electronics)
Proven ability to operate and optimize a full-stack DTC flow, from marketing handoff to close and post-sale onboarding
Comfortable owning and running physical and digital sales channels concurrently
Hands-on, action-oriented, and highly accountable, you close loops and move fast
Technically curious and capable of translating product functionality into clear customer value
Strong cross-functional instincts and excellent communication skills
Compensation
At 1X your work and results will be rewarded with a total rewards package consisting of a base salary, stock options and benefits. Base salary range is $115,000 to $175,000 + equity. Your actual salary will be based on your knowledge, skills and experience.
